For Hotshot & Expedited Haulers
Hotshot Trucking Trailer Rentals: Gooseneck & Flatbed in Middle Tennessee
Published: June 8, 2026 | Reading Time: 7 minutes
Got a hotshot load lined up but no trailer ready — or your deck is down for repair? MudRock Rentals rents gooseneck and flatbed-style equipment trailers in Middle Tennessee so hotshot and expedited haulers can keep moving freight without a five-figure purchase or a missed dispatch.
Trailers Built for Hotshot Work
Most non-CDL and light hotshot freight moves on a gooseneck or a deckover-style flatbed: building materials, equipment, pipe, pallets, ag loads, and vehicles. Our equipment goosenecks are sized and rated for exactly that kind of work.
Big Tex 16GN — 30' Gooseneck
A 30' flat deck plus 5' flip-over mega ramps gives you up to 35' of usable load space. A 12" I-beam frame, dual 7,000 lb Dexter EZ-Lube axles, dual 12,000 lb drop-leg jacks, and a 17,500 lb GVWR (about 12,000 lb of payload) make it a dependable deck for a wide range of brokered loads.
Heavy 30' Gooseneck
When the load calls for more capacity, we keep a heavier 30' gooseneck on dual 10,000 lb oil-bath braked axles for higher-GVWR freight. Same length, more spine.
Gooseneck Rates
30' deck + 5' mega ramps (up to 35') • 17,500 lb GVWR • heavier 10k-axle gooseneck available • $250 deposit, valid ID at pickup.
MaxxD 20' & 24' Bumper-Pull Haulers
If you're running a bumper hitch instead of a gooseneck ball, our MaxxD car & equipment haulers give you a 20' or 24' deck (up to 14,000 lb GVWR on the 24') for single-vehicle and lighter equipment runs.
Bumper-Pull Hauler Rates
20' (7,000 lb) & 24' (14,000 lb GVWR) • 7.5' wide • standard 2-5/16-inch ball.
Buy vs. Rent for Hotshot Haulers
When Renting Wins
- Your trailer is in the shop and a load won't wait
- You're testing hotshot before buying your own deck
- Seasonal or overflow freight you can't justify owning for
- A one-off load that needs a longer or heavier deck than you own
- You want the cost billed cleanly against the load
When Owning Wins
- You run loaded miles nearly every day, year-round
- You need a custom deck, ramps, or load-specific rigging
- You want to build equity in your equipment
- Your lanes demand a deck that's always staged and ready
For most part-time, seasonal, or just-starting hotshot operators, a $745 week or $2,980 month beats financing a $20,000+ trailer you're still learning the demand for.
What You Need to Rent
- A capable tow vehicle: a 3/4- or 1-ton with a gooseneck ball in the bed for the goosenecks, or a 2-5/16" bumper ball for the MaxxD haulers.
- Trailer brakes: our decks are brake-equipped; your truck needs a working brake controller.
- A $250 refundable deposit on a credit card and a valid driver's license at pickup.
- Your own straps/chains for securement, or ask us about tie-down gear.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Can I rent a gooseneck for a single load and return it the next day?
A: Yes — daily rentals are $145. Many hotshot haulers rent per-load and bill it to the freight.
Q: Do you allow out-of-state hauls?
A: Talk to us about your route when you book. We'll go over mileage expectations and the terms for longer hauls.
Q: Is the 30' gooseneck rated for vehicles and equipment both?
A: Yes. The flat deck plus flip-over mega ramps handles equipment, vehicles, pallets, and ag loads within its 17,500 lb GVWR.
Q: Can I get it delivered to load out?
A: Local delivery starts at $55 one-way around Murfreesboro, with the surrounding metro available by distance.
